According to Chinese Medicine balance of ‘the five elements’ are key components of a healthy life.
In Chinese philosophy the five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water are the five basic aspects of Qi, or life force. These five elements are both interconnected and interdependent.
There are many variations of these set and of course some is a better choice than others.
The 5 elements are rooted in Daoist philosophy and aim to explain natural developments in the nature as well as in human life itself. Originally this old Chinese system puts the Earth in the middle with the other elements surrounding it while nowadays it is more common to put all of them in a circle.
The elements support and balances each other and also have their special peak dependent on the season of the year. As a practitioner of Chinese Medicine, it is a valuable diagnostic tool.
