Grandmaster Zheng Manqing’s Qigong
This Qigong set has its origin in the tradition of Taiji Grandmaster Zheng Manqing. It was taught to me by one of his Taiwanese students. The set is all about opening the energy paths – feeling and sensing the energy and identify any blockages and dissolve them.
As you can see, some of the movements are either close to or identical to Taijimovements (like cloud hands). The dantian is essential and an experience of the idea that every movements has its origin there. Principles and experience of inflation/deflation, opening and closing as well as a soft stretch of the fascia system is central. It is not uncommon that it is way easier for people to feel the Qi while doing Qigong compared to for instance doing a Taijiform.
